West Virginia Arizona Bracket
- In his first year as West Virginia Coach, Bob Huggins led the Mountaineers to a 7th seed in the NCAA Tournament. This is the third team Huggins has coached into the tournament. He was previously the head coach of the University of Cincinnati Bearcats and the Kansas State University Wildcats. Arizona is attempting to deflect criticism that their team lacks depth and doesn't belong in the tournament. Freshman star Jerryd Bayless will try to turn his 21 points per regular-season game into a victory. The Wildcats are 11-4 when Bayless scores 20 or more.

West Virginia Arizona Pre-Game Analysis
- The Mountaineers-Wildcats match-up is expected to be tight, despite a widely-held sentiment that Arizona doesn't even belong in the tournament. Despite a tough schedule, they had a sub-.500 Pac-10 record and lost twice to cross-state rivals Arizona State. West Virginia outpaces them in points per game, steals, and blocks. Don't give this one to the Mountaineers just yet, however. The Wildcats have superior percentages in terms of free throws, field goals, and three-point shooting. Freshman guard Jerryd Bayless is a dynamo and 6'10" forward Jordan Hill has shot .622 this year. Another note on this game: Kevin O'Neill is interim head coach of the Wildcats while Lute Olson is on a leave of absence.
