The Weird Weeds signed to the experimental label Are Active in January of 2006. During this time, they released This Is Not What You Want, which is a web-only free release.1 Also in 2006, The Weird Weeds played at South by Southwest with Jandek. They recorded their 2008 album I Miss This over the course of seven months from their house.2
