The Towelhead trailer is for the September 12, 2008 release of the Alan Ball drama starring Aaron Eckhart, Toni Collette and Maria Bello. The film follows the life of Jasira, a 13-year-old Arab-American girl who is forced to live with her Lebanese father in Houston, Texas. In the trailer, Jasira and her father are uncomfortably welcomed by their neighbors as Jasira attempts to acclimate herself to school and adolescence. During this journey, Jasira finds herself in a relationship her father doesn't approve of and in a somewhat unusual relationship with her neighbor.
"With all of the above and much to come, the film intends to startle with its upfront taboo-breaking, its depiction of the sexual explorations of barely double-digit-aged characters, and of adult complicity in them. This alone will turn many viewers off.
