American actor and comedian Tom Arnold appeared as Arnie on the sitcom Roseanne for five years. He also appeared in a number of films including True Lies, Nine Months and Happy Endings.

Early Career

Prior to his film and television career, Arnold did stand up comedy. It was during one of his acts in 1983 that he met his first wife Roseanne Barr. Arnold became a head write of her sitcom television show, Roseanne in 1989, also appearing in 22 episodes. He was also a producer of the show before leaving in 1993. Arnold and Barr divorced in 1994.

Making It On His Own

Arnold was given his own show in 1992, the The Jackie Thomas Show. The series was not well received however and was canceled after 18 episodes. Arnold played in his first major film role in 1994, opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in True Lies. He revived his sidekick role starring as the supporting actor in Nine Months with Hugh Grant. He has continued to give cameo appearances in several films and television shows including Exit Wounds, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Dirt and Cradle 2 The Grave.
