The XYZ Affair

The XYZ Affair is a rock band from Brooklyn, New York. The band derives their name from the 1797 diplomatic episode known as the "XYZ Affair." Started by Alex Feder as a solo effort while he was in high school, Feder met bandmates Russ Maschmeyer, Chris Bonner and Sam Rockwell, while attending NYU.¹ Their music has been compared to Modest Mouse, The Killers and The Decemberists.¹
