The Witcher

The Witcher is based on a book series by author Andrzej Sapkowski. Which has been turned into a computer role-playing game for Windows PC.

Story

You play as Geralt who is a Witcher, a warrior that has gone through mutations and trials from childhood to become the perfect weapon. You earn a living killing monsters and serving a brotherhood that protects people from werewolves, the undead and other monsters. There is also quite a bit of discrimination against non-humans such as elves and dwarves, making live a little harder for Geralt on both sides since he is used to be human, but due to mutations is no longer a full human or full non-human.

Gameplay

Combat uses a timing based clicking system. Clicking once will initiate an attack. Once the attack animation begins players can either wait for a yellow flaming sword icon (normal difficulty) or an orange sword arc (high difficulty) to click again. You can chain the attacks into devastating combos. The more skill points you have, the stronger your attacks. Double tapping on direction keys will cause Geralt to dodge. For easier combat there are three camera modes players can choose. The strength of the combat is in the constant need to change between fighting styles. Geralt has access to five different signs which range from direct damage to causing fear or pain which can stun enemies.
