The Prodigy is an electronic music group from England that formed in 1990. They make techno music that is heavily influenced by the industrial and hardcore styles of electronic music, and commonly features fast bass lines and mechanical sound samples. Although they first emerged in the English underground rave scene, they found mainstream attention and commercial success in the late 1990s. Both their lyrical content and music videos have often been the source of controversy.
