The Muppet Show is a syndicated series that features hand-operated puppets as the cast and appearances by weekly celebrity guest stars including Elton John, Johnny Cash, John Denver, Chewbacca, Alice Cooper, Julie Andrews, Steve Martin and many others. The show was a slapstick comedy involving the antics involved in putting together an on stage show in vaudeville style. The show featured the antics of Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Scooter, Gonzo, The Swedish Chef, Rowlf the Dog, Beaker, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew and more.

A New Muppet Show?
Forgetting Sarah Marshall's writer and star, Jason Segel, is working on a new film featuring Jim Henson's Muppet characters, and may follow up that project with a new incarnation of the classic Muppet Show.
