The Matrix film series consists of three films: The Matrix, The Matrix Reloaded and The Matrix Revolutions. The writers and directors used cutting-edge special effects to make the movies and incorporated philosophical elements into the films. The first film was the first DVD to sell more than three million copies in the United States.¹

The Matrix
