The site is run by the pseudonymous Nik Richie, who calls himself "the first-ever reality blogger." He started with the website "Dirtyscottsdale.com" while living in Scottsdale, Arizona, working on the site during breaks from his day job. He claims that he started the site in order to "date Paris Hilton."
