Guide Note
The Chronicles of Riddick is the name of both the sequel to the 2000 sci-fi film Pitch Black as well as the movie franchise that deals with the anti-heroic character Riddick. The 2004 movie details Riddick's fight against the evil Necromongers in order to save the universe from destruction and slavery. Though it had a large budget and featured many special effects, the film performed poorly in the box office. Despite that fact, star and producer Vin Diesel has made statements regarding not only a sequel, but a trilogy in The Chronicles of Riddick franchise.
