This is because these games are played in humongous indoor stadiums built as football fields, not the usual basketball arenas where the buildings are smaller and the seating is closer and at a higher arc behind the backboards. It will take shooters a little while to adjust.

Texas Stanford Pre-Game Analysis

• Many people outside the Big 12 downplayed the Longhorns as an over-inflated #2 seed - but even the harshest of critics have been impressed with Texas in their first two tournament games. They are led by the backcourt duo of D.J. Augustin and A.J. Abrams. Augustin is an excellent distributer of the ball, and also has great presence on both ends of the floor. Abrams has a smooth stroke from downtown, and anywhere in the offesnive end of the court is seemingly in his range. The Longhorns have been solid on the glass, and have been very protective of the ball, averaging fewer than 10 turnovers per contest. For the Cardinal to win deep in the heart of Texas (game is being played in Houston), they will need the wonder-twin powers of Brook and Robin Lopez. They will challenge the Longhorns on the interior, and will need to hold Texas to one-and-done shooting possessions in order to maintain competitive control of the contest. Anthony Goods needs to be more consistent when given perimeter scoring opportunities to force the Longhorns defend a wide area of the court and not pack in to stop the interior threat.
