Guide Note:

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island is a platformer game developed and published by Nintendo for the SNES. The game was one of the first to not feature Mario as the primary character. Instead, players controlled Yoshi as he safeguards Baby Mario through several worlds.

Storyline

A stork carries Baby Mario and Baby Luigi through the sky. All of a sudden, a Magikoopa steals Baby Luigi, and Baby Mario falls onto Yoshi's Island, a land full of Yoshi dinos. The Yoshis on the island gather Mario and begin their quest to rescue Baby Luigi.

Rescuing Baby Mario

Throughout the game, a Yoshi carries Baby Mario on its back. When the two are separated, a 10-second timer begins to count down. If Baby Mario is not rescued before the timer reaches zero, several Magikoopas steal Baby Mario, and the round ends. Time can be added if Yoshi collects stars; the counter can increase to as much as 30 seconds. If the Yoshi recovers Baby Mario, the counter slowly resets back to 10.
