Guide Note: Originating from the 1980's punk scene, the Sun City Girls produced 26 critically acclaimed albums through out the span of their career. The band's avant-garde music style is a mixture of just about every musical style used today. They have not had success in the mainstream but continue to have a cult following.

The very independent trio released their self-titled debut album, Sun City Girls, in 1984 and have followed it with over 30 albums. Their performances are known to be unpredictable due to the theatrical costumes and make-up that have created a very festive atmosphere on stage. Their writing would often represent the interests of the band which were known to be mysticism, paranormal, cults and they were especially interested in UFOs. You could see their interests in album titles such as Torch of the Mystics, Live From Planet Boomerang and songs like "Space Prophet Dogon."

Richard Bishop has toured solo performing guitar solos as Sir Richard Bishop while his Brother Alan Bishop has founded the Sublime Frequencies Record Label. He has released albums under the name Alvarius B and Uncle Jim. Charles Gocher passed away on February 19, 2007 after fighting a long battle with cancer. After his death the remaining members have vowed never to record or perform as the Sun City Girls. Fast Facts:
