Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Steve Young is a former NFL quarterback and current ESPN analyst. He is widely recognized as one of the best left-handed quarterbacks to ever play the game, and is the only left-handed quarterback to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Young was named the Most Valuable Player of Super Bowl XXIX, when he played for the San Francisco 49ers Young finished his career with a quarterback rating of 96.8.

Career

After attending Brigham Young University, Young began his professional career with the Los Angeles Express in the failed United States Football League. Young played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1985-1986 with limited success before being signed by the [[San Francisco 49ers] as a back-up quarterback for Joe Montana. Young started for the 49ers in the 1991 season after Montana suffered an injury. Montana was traded to the Kansas City Chiefs in 1993, firmly giving Young the starting job. Young won the NFL MVP in 1992 and 1994 and let the team to victory in Super Bowl XXIX, where he won the game's MVP award.
