Cop Parks in Front of Fire Hydrant

Guide Note

Cop Parks in Front of Fire Hydrant is an online video by Jimmy Justice that was posted on YouTube in July, 2007. Justice is known for exposing alleged traffic and parking violations by New York police.

The video

Justice waits on the street for a cop to return to her illegally parked car so he can confront her about the violation. When she does, the officer barely acknowledges his presence. A bystander approaches the car and identifies herself as a retired NYPD officer. She harangues Justice, saying that it is illegal to videotape New York police because of "the terrorism". The first cop then drives away (without wearing a seat belt). Justice ends the video by reporting the issue to 311, the New York City government information and non-emergency service number.
