
Guide Note:Sidd Finch was the fictional character in George Plimpton's April Fools Day hoax article that appeared in the the April 1, 1985 issue of Sports Illustrated. The article was called "The Curious Case of Sidd Finch", and told a far fetched story about a reclusive yogi pitcher named Hayden "Sidd" (Siddhartha) Finch. The article even included photos of Finch with Lenny Dykstra, and the Mets pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre. The Mets even went along with the hoax, loaning a uniform to the person who posed as Finch in the photos.
