The comedy film Semi-Pro, stars Will Ferrell as a fictional basketball coach named Jackie Moon. Jackie must save his team, the fictional Flint Tropics from obsolescence when the American Basketball Association merges with the National Basketball Association in the late 1970s.

The critics were generally negative about the film, leading to Rotten Tomatoes posting a meager 21% freshness rating on its website. As Will Ferrell's fourth sports-oriented comedy, it lacked the spark that made other efforts like Anchorman and Talladega Nights hits.
