Music Career
Lennon collaborated with his mother frequently during the 1980s and 1990s, receiving production credits on a number of her albums and performing with her backup band, IMA.
In the mid-'90s, he became a permanent member of the band Cibo Matto, and signed a contract to record solo albums for the Beastie Boys label, Grand Royal Records. He released his debut album in 1998, Into the Sun. Later, Lennon would collaborate on a few hip-hop albums with Del The Funky Homosapien and Handsome Boy Modeling School.
After leaving the spotlight temporarily to play as a session musician and produce albums for other artists, Lennon signed a deal with his father's old label, Capital Records, in 2001. His second album, Friendly Fire, was released in 2006.
