Scarlett Johansson is an American actress and singer who rose to fame in the 2003 film "Lost in Translation", starring opposite Bill Murray. She launched her acting career with roles in independent films such as "Manny & Lo" and "The Horse Whisperer", later to opt for several costume dramas, such as "The Prestige." The actress has cooperated several times with the legendary writer-director Woody Allen, playing lead roles in his films "Match Point" and "Scoop."
On May 20, 2008, Johansson released her debut album "Anywhere I Lay My Head." The Rolling Stone Magazine magazine suggested that "the girl's got indie cred, no doubt," grading the release at two and a half stars out of five.1
Johansson married the Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds on September 27, 2008. The were engaged since May that year, and were romantically involved since Spring 2007.2

Engagement and Marriage
Johansson got engaged to the Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds on May 5, 2008. The two reportedly planned to marry after the 2008 presidential election. A publicist for Johansson said the couple were "both thrilled" about their plans.
The People Magazine reported that the couple got married near Vancouver, Canada, on September 28, 2008. The "quiet wedding" took place at a resort outside the city. Johansson's mother and brother were present at the ceremony.3
