NHL Career

Miller was drafted 138th overall in the 1999 NHL Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. He did not join the NHL immediately, but chose to attend and play for Michigan State University. He joined the Sabres in 2002 for his NHL debut. Miller split his first few seasons between the Sabres and their American Hockey League affiliate, the Rochester Americans. He was selected as the starting goaltender for the Sabres in 2005 and helped the team reach the Eastern Conference Finals in 2007.
