Ron Sailor

Georgia State Representative and Pastor Ron Sailor resigned after pleading guilty on March 18, 2008 to charges of money laundering. Sailor met with an undercover officer who worked for the FBI in a hotel room in November of 2007. He told the officer he could launder money, and had done so in the past. Sailor took $25,000 in cash that was claimed to be from a cocaine sale. The following week, they met again, and the undercover officer gave him a check for an additional $22,000. The check stated that the money came from contracting work on a church that Sailor claimed to be in association with. No such church existed. Further transactions followed. On December 19, 2007, the FBI had all they needed to move in and arrest him.
