Richard Myers is a former general of the U.S. Air Force and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. As the United States military's highest ranking officer, he served as the principal military advisor to the President during the War on Terror and the Invasion of Iraq. Myers served in the capacity of chairman from 2001 to 2005 and was succeeded by Peter Pace.
