Positions
In 1995, Daley assumed control of the school system in the city. Making sweeping reforms that included increases in education funding, standards have, reportedly, risen. However, since his acclaim in the mid-1990s, Daley has felt some heat for his alleged involvement in the "Hired Trucking Scandal," a false billing scheme.4 He also made the controversial decision to demolish Meigs Field airport, which was done at night and without the knowledge of the Federal Aviation Administration.5
