The third installment in the popular Resident Evil series, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is a 1999 survival-horror game developed by Capcom for the PlayStation. The game was subsequently released on the PC (2001), Dreamcast (2000) and GameCube (2003).

Like the preceding two entries in the series, Resident Evil: Nemesis takes place in the fictional location of Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation has released the deadly T-virus, turning the citizenry into cannibalistic zombies. You take the role of S.T.A.R.S. member Jill Valentine, as she attempts to make her way through the ruined city and escape to Europe to meet up with Chris Redfield. Along the way, Jill teams up with other S.T.A.R.S. members Carlos Oliviera, Nicholai Ginovaef and Mikhail Victor. Together the officers fight against the zombie invasion spreading throughout the city, and the “Nemesis”, an extremely powerful bio-weapon created by the Umbrella Corporation. The race to escape the city becomes more pressing when the government decides to level the entire area, giving Valentine a limited amount of time. Because of this conclusion, Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is the final Resident Evil game to take place in Raccoon City.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is a third-person survival-horror action game, where you solve puzzles, gather items, fend off enemies with limited ammunition and health, and attempt to escape the situation. The “Nemesis” enemy is a recurring foe throughout the campaign, appearing in boss fights as well as occasional random encounters. New additions to the gameplay include quick-turn ability, creating ammunition, dodge move, pick-your-path sequences, and new randomization of item placement and puzzle solutions.
