    • Giuliani: Defends himself, stating that he's a fan of the American league. He goes on to say that when he was the mayor of New York, the Yankees won 4 World Series, and have not won since he left office.


10:10 PM:

    • Giuliani: Discusses how he dealt with a similar situation in NY, and believes he can lead the country into fixing it. He also challenges to constitutionality of the line item veto.
    • Ron Paul: States that we need to fix problems at home before fixing things abroad and also states that we need to get the government out of our lives and out of our wallets.
    • McCain: Claims that he will will fight Pork

10:05 PM:

    • Romney: "That flag frankly is divisive and it shouldn't be shown."
    • Thompson: Is glad people have decided not to display it in public places but knows that people who hang it are not racist.

10:00 PM:

    • Giuliani: "We haven't done a good enough job making clear the GOP philosophy is most compatible with minority voters.
    • Huckabee: Reminds that 48% of African Americans did vote for him in Arkansas.

9:57 PM:

    • Huckabee: Says he would not want to make that decision but adds that Hillary should be on the first rocket to Mars.
    • Tancredo: Says that questions like this is why the deficit is out of control.

9:55 PM:

    • Thompson: First thing that I would do is defend (the new generation) from (the old generation). ABC's Christine Byun: "Thompson comes alive when talking about Social Security - you have to hand it to him, he's the only one to touch "the third rail" with some sort of fervor."
    • Huckabee: Jokingly says "I'll take any support that I can get," and while he doesn't support their views on same sex marriage he doesn't think that they differ on many other issues.

9:50 PM:

    • Hunter: Thinks it would be bad for unit cohesion.
    • Huckabee: Talks about conduct and how it may hurt unit cohesion and morale.
    • Romney: States that this isn't the time to make a decision on this issue and defends his stance against don't ask don't tell.
    • McCain: Comes down on the side of don't ask don't tell.

9:42 PM:

    • Thompson: States that the primary responsibility is to be able to take over for the President should he need to.
    • McCain: States that he wouldn't need as much help as Bush needed post 2001.

9:40 PM:

    • Giuliani:Wants his entire career to be looked at. "I've been tested"

9:35 PM:

    • Thompson: States that we don't know how long we're going to be there, but we need to be there as long as it takes. I'm vested in a scenario of victory.
    • Paul: The best thing we can do for Iraq is to give them their country back. It's time to take care of America first.
    • McCain Takes offense and states that Iraq is a much larger issue and if we left it would hurt the country in the end.

9:30 PM:

    • Romney: Refuses to "describe specifically which measures we would and would not use."
    • McCain: Is appalled at Romney's stance on waterboarding and calls torture a defining issue. "If we're going to get the high ground ... we're not going to torture people. We're not going to do what Pol Pot did. We're not going to do what's being done" in Burma.

9:20 PM:

    • Giuliani: Says we have to stay on offense.
    • McCain: Will do a lot, but will continue the surge in Iraq and will stop any effort by the Dems to pull out of Iraq.
    • Hunter: "I will never apologize for the United States of America."

9:15 PM:

    • Giuliani: Yes, but not every word literally.
    • Romney: Yes.
    • Huckabee: Yes.

9:10 PM:

    • Huckabee: "Jesus was too smart to run for public office."
    • Giuliani: "I probably would sign it. I would leave it to the states to make that decision."
    • Romney: Says he would sign it too.
    • Paul: Says it's up to the states.
    • Thompson: Agrees

9:05 PM:

    • Kate Phillips NYTimes: "Romney gets in a nice line about mothers and fathers and family values, none of the candidates really address the issue that the young son raised."
    • Thompson: "I own a couple of guns but I'm not going to tell you what they are or where they are."
    • McCain: "For a long time I used a lot of guns, including carrying a 45 in combat over Vietnam. I don't own one now."

9:00 PM:

    • Here are a few statements by the candidates on Gun Control.
    • Giuliani: Defends a Politico story that says he "billed obscure city agencies for tens of thousands of dollars in security expenses amassed during the time when he was beginning an extramarital relationship with future wife Judith Nathan in the Hamptons."

8:45 PM:

    • Tancredo: Yes
    • Huckabee: Yes
    • Romney: Yes
    • Giuliani: Yes
    • Thompson: Doesn't pledge "to anybody but the American people."
    • McCain: Like Thompson.
    • Hunter: Warns of the danger of a pledge like that in wartime.

8:40 PM:

    • Paul: Takes opposition to a statement from McCain about Republicans that changed in DC. "I don't think that applies to me. Washington did not change me." Huckabee would dump the IRS and fix Homeland Security.

8:35 PM:

    • McCain: Wants to cut pork.
    • Giuliani: Calls for across-the-board cuts.

8:30 PM:

    • Huckabee: Defends a scholarship program that helped illegal immigrants in his home state.
    • Romney: Responds to Huckabee by saying "[He] basically fought to get scholarship for illegal aliens...Mike, that's not your money. That's the taxpayers' money."
    • Huckabee: Replies "We're a better country than to punish children for what their parents did. we're a better country than that."

8:15 PM:

    • Tancredo: The candidates are trying to "out tancredo Tancredo" on immigration.
    • McCain: Is saddened by the discussion as he knows that it is going to be a tough issue, and has been.
    • Thompson: Accuses Romney of supporting the Bush-McCain immigration proposal to let illegal immigrants to earn citizenship until recently.

8:10 PM:

    • Giuliani: Defends a question regarding New York City's "aiding and abetting" of illegal immigrants as a "Sanctuary City" during his term as Mayor there.
    • Romney: States that Giuliani's stances on illegal immigration aren't congruent with what he states. NYC was a sanctuary city and called itself that.
    • Giuliani Says that under Romney he had six sanctuary cities and a "sanctuary mansion".

8:10 PM:
