Plot Summary
Encouraged by his single mother, Ray Charles became an accomplished piano player and singer despite going blind at the age of seven. Charles went on to become a pioneer in the music industry and overcame prejudices against both the handicapped and African Americans. Behind the scenes, Charles battled with drug addiction and a series of failed relationships.
