In 2008, in its 15th and final season, ER is one of the longest running television shows that is still airing. The cast has changed dramatically through the years and some stories have taken place on the other side of the world. Most of the episodes reveal the drama that occurs between the doctors, patients and nurses in County General Hospital in Chicago.

ER is NBC network's second longest-running drama with only Law & Order surpassing that record with 18 seasons.²

The program has garnered critical acclaim and countless Emmy nominations and wins. NBC announced that the 15th season will be its last. The series finale airs in the spring of 2009.

Former Cast Member to Direct

Former cast member Eriq La Salle will return to ER to direct a future episode of the 2008 final season.³ He has directed episodes of Law & Order: SVU and Without A Trace. La Salle starred in the show from 1994-2002.³
