Guide Note:

Charles, Prince of Wales is the eldest son of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, and is the heir apparent to the Commonwealth Realms. He is also the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland as well as the Duke of Cornwall.

Marriages

He married Diana Frances Spencer in 1981 and together they bore two sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. They separated in 1992 then divorced in 1996 amid much public scandal. Princess Diana admitted to having an affair with James Hewitt, and she alleged that Prince Charles had an affair with Tiggy Legge-Bourke and Camilla Parker-Bowles. Princess Diana passed away in 1997 after an automobile accident.

Prince Charles married Camilla Parker-Bowles on April 8, 2005.

Charity Work

Prince Charles is currently President of 18 charities and supports over 350 other charities including The African Medical and Research Foundation, The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, Canadian Business for Social Responsibility, Macmillan Cancer Support, The Prince of Wales Hospice, and more.

Military career

After completing a 6 week course at Royal Naval College, Dartmouth, Prince Charles qualified as a helicopter pilot and figher pilot. He served 5 years in the Royal Navy. Currently, he hold the ranks of General (British Army), Admiral (Royal Navy) and Air Chief Marshal (Royal Air Force) after a promotion on his 58th birthday.
