Pine Bark Extract
Pine bark extract is an antioxidant compound that is derived from the bark of the French maritime pine tree. Initial studies indicate that pine bark extract may be useful in reducing inflammation in people with osteoarthritis of the knee. Other studies indicate pine bark extract might be useful in treating ADD, hypertension and high cholesterol. The studies are preliminary, however, and not enough evidence currently exists to prove conclusively that pine bark helps any of these conditions.1 2
