Peter R. de Vries
Peter de Vries is a Dutch private investigator and journalist who specializes in cold cases. In 2008, he secretly filmed Joran van der Sloot admit to disposing of Natalee Holloway's body at sea after her death from a drug overdose. Van der Sloot later denied the confession.1
On November 10, 2008, de Vries aired another videotape of van der Sloot, this time allegedly showing him involved in sex trafficking of women from Thailand.2 Thai officials have requested a transcript of the tape.3

Brief Biography
Born in The Netherlands, de Vries served in the Dutch military and later began a career in crime reporting. In January, 2008, de Vries interviewed van der Sloot on live Dutch television, and on several occasions challenged the teenager's truthfulness. After the broadcast, van der Sloot threw a glass of red wine in de Vries's face. Later that month, de Vries announced that he had hidden camera footage of van der Sloot admitting to disposing of Holloway's body. In the video, van der Sloot claimed that he used a friend's boat to dump her body at sea.5
