Perth, the capital of the Australian state of Western Australia, is the fourth largest city in Australia. It was founded in 1829 by Captain James Stirling to serve as the political center of Western Australia, which it continues to do to this day. Perth became known throughout the world as the “City of Light” because residents lit house lights and streetlights when John Glenn orbited the earth in 1962. ¹ The act was repeated in 1998 when Glenn passed Perth in the Space Shuttle. ²

Yanchep National Park: Along with the wildlife and woodlands, there are three presentations each day on the traditional Aboriginal culture. ⁵
Kings Park and Botanic Garden: Take a relaxing stroll through the park and the botanical gardens while admiring native plant species. ⁵
