Professional ice hockey player Pavel Kubina is a defenseman for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League.

Kubina was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning during the seventh round of the 1996 NHL Entry Draft. After a season each in the Western Hockey League and American Hockey League, Kaberle became a full time member of the Lightning roster for the 1998-1999 season, during which he placed first among the League's rookies in average ice time per game. Kubina and the Lightning won the Stanley Cup Championships in 2004 and Kubina went on to record a career high of 38 points the following season.

Kubina played on the bronze medal winning Czech Republic 2006 Winter Olympic team and, as an unrestricted free agent, signed a four-year $20 million contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs prior to the 2006-2007 season.
