Paul Vados
Paul Vados is one of the two homeless men that
Helen Golay and
Olga Rutterschmidt are on trial for murdering. It is alleged that after getting him an apartment and caring for him, the two women murdered him to collect the proceeds of an insurance policy that they had taken out on his life. Prosecutors maintain that Rutterschmidt approached Vados in 1997, befriending him because they were both Hungarian immigrants, and persuading him to sign an insurance policy she'd taken out on him for $760,000. Two years later, he was dead, having been crushed by a car. Suspicions were raised when a similar accident to
Kenneth McDavid happened in 2005, and the car that killed McDavid was linked to the women. Police remembered the earlier case, and began an investigation.
