Weeks to Live?

In August 2008, reports surfaced that Paul Newman had completed chemotherapy treatments for cancer. The British tabloid the Daily Mail reported that Newman may only have weeks to live. The Mail quoted an anonymous "friend" as saying the actor was getting his affairs in order, and that he had told his family he wished to die at home. Newman himself has not confirmed his rumored condition.²

The AP Controversy

On June 11, 2008, the Associated Press released a story claiming that a close friend of Newman's had confirmed his cancer.¹¹

Later in the day Access Hollywood posted an exclusive reporting that the same informant had denied the AP story.¹²
