Patapon Walkthrough
- Guide written by Doug B
Introduction
- A rhythm game similar to Parappa the Rapper and Um Jammer Lammy, Patapon is a real-time strategy game developed by Interlink exclusively for the PSP. You play the god of the Patapons, strange but cute little eyeball creatures. It is your duty to lead the Patapons to Earthend to discover the secret of It. Guide your Patapons along the way to battle against the evil Zigotons and huge monsters that would like nothing more than to eat your worshipers.
The Basics
- What follows is a basic introduction to the actions and elements of Patapon. Be sure to explore the world and see just what you can discover.
- Basic Commands (Drum Beats)
- Advance: square, square, square, circle
- Attack: circle, circle, square, circle
- Defend: triangle, triangle, square, circle
- Dodge: circle, square, circle, square
- Charge: circle, circle, triangle, triangle
- Miracle (JuJu): x, x, x, x, x
- Materials
- There are many different materials that you can collect to create new types of Patapon with. To find these items, you can hunt on the various plains, play the minigames in Patapolis, or find them as you conquer the missions of the game.
- Alloys: Play the Ton Kampon minigame in Patapolis, or hunt the Parcheeks on the different hunting grounds to unlock the Awesome, Hard, and Sloppy Alloys.
- Branches: Play the Pan Pakapon (Ubo Bon) minigame in Patapolis, hunt the Kacheek, and Poocheek on the swamps and plains.
- Meats: Hunt the Kacheek, Gancheek, and Motiti in any hunting ground.
- Ore: The Kon Kimpon and Pan Pakapon minigames will unlock the different kinds of ores. You can also hunt Kacheek, Gancheek, and Motiti. Occasionally, killing a Dekaton will reward you with an ore, as well.
- Vegetables: Play the Fah Zakpon minigame in Patapolis. Sometimes, hunting in a swamp will reveal a vegetable, too.
Making Patapons
- By combining various materials, you can make basic or more powerful Patapon for your army. Try experimenting with unusual materials to see what you can create, but be aware that unit prices increase as you use advanced materials.
- Dekapon (heavy infantry) are created with Alloys and Meats or Vegetables. They start off costing 200 for a basic unit.
- Kibapon (fast-attack cavalry) require two Ore materials and have a starting cost of 200.
- Megapon (heavy ranged attack) need an Alloy and Branch and start at 300.
- Tatepon (standard infantry) take a Vegetable or Meat and Ore. Standard cost is 100.
- Yaripon (ranged and hand-to-hand spear attack) require a Meat and a Branch material. They start off at 80.
- Yumipon (archers) are built with Branch and Ore materials. Starting cost is 150.
Weapons and Armor
- Each Patapon unit is equipped with basic weapons and armor. Certain Zigoton troop types will drop weapons and armor when they are killed, and the corresponding Patapon units can collect and use them.
- Dekaton/pon: clubs, hammers, maces, bats.
- Kibaton/pon: horses, lances, halberds.
- Megaton/pon: horns.
- Tateton/pon: helmets, shields, swords, axes.
- Yariton/pon: helmets, spears, fangs.
- Yumiton/pon: bows.
Miracles
- Certain levels require that you bring a specific Miracle with you. Some Miracles are just more helpful during a certain level. To activate a Miracle, drum the JuJu beat (x, x, x, x, x) and then follow the beats of the Miracle minigame to activate it. Don't be upset if it takes a few tries before you get the hang of it.
- The Earthquake Miracle becomes available after you beat Cioking in the Guchoppa Ruins.
- Rain can be found at Lostdon once Majidonga is defeated.
- The Storm Miracle unlocks after you beat Shooshokle in the Dark Palace Guardian level.
- Tailwind is on the World of Ooze level. You must kill the Gold Motiti there.
General Advice
- Play with a set of headphones or a speaker connection. Responding to the musical beat is the key to Patapon.
- When hunting on the plains, leave your melee troops at home. Use ranged troops, like the Yari and Yumipon to hit the beasts from afar. Hand-to-hand troops will just spook the critters.
- Experiment with different ingredients in Patapolis to create new troop types and try different mixes of units.
- Be sure to include a strong infantry or cavalry unit to protect your ranged troops.
- Attack all objects that you see. Some of them will give you extra cash and/or items.
- Play the mini-games in Patapolis often to earn new items and ingredients and keep your units up to strength.
- Learn to use your JuJu powers. At first it's difficult to get the beat down, but the JuJu is your most powerful weapon in the game.
Prologue: Patapons Come Home
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Yaripon
- Boss: Giant Monster Dodonga
- Keep up the Pon beat (circle) until you revive Hatapon.
- He will then give you the Pata Drum.
- Practice the Advance, or Patapata, song (square, square, square, circle) to move Hatapon across the landscape.
- You'll come to the Yaripons and add them to your army.
- Keep on advancing to find more Yaripons and flee the first appearance of Dodonga.
Patapolis
- This will be your headquarters throughout the game where you can create new Patapons, outfit them with gear you find, play special mini-games, select missions, and much more.
- For now, meet Meden and introduce yourself.
- Meden asks you to go to the Patata Plain Hunting Grounds to find food for the Patapons.
Mission 1: Hunting on Patata Plain
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Yaripon
- Boss: None
- Here, you will learn the Attack, or Ponpon song (circle, circle, square, circle). Practice it on the wall to open the Patata Plain.
- Practice using the Advance and Attack drum commands as you hunt the Motiti and Kacheek on the Plain.
- TIP: Watch for the large flowers with a glowing aura. If your Yaripon hit them when they throw their spears, you will earn extra Kaching!
- Any beasts you kill will earn meat for your Patapons to use back in Patapolis. Meden will show you the Altar, where you can check your inventory, when you return.
- NOTE: You can return to the Patata Plains at any time to hunt for more meat or Kaching to create more Patapon.
- TIP: You may want to leave your melee troops behind and only use ranged weapons when hunting. The Motiti and Kacheek can smell your Patapons if they are close and the wind is right.
Mission 2: Escape from Exile
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Yaripon
- Boss: None
- Talk to Meden after she unlocks the Altar. She will ask you to destroy the wall blocking the Patapon's journey to Earthend.
- Advance to the wall and destroy it. The Zigotons will flee. As you progress, you will meet Ban the Tatepon, who will join your army.
- Move on and attack the next wall. Take out the Zigotons on the other side and see if you can hit the glowing beehive in the tree for extra Kaching.
- Destroy the obelisk to progress and unlock more treasure.
- Ban will die before the end of the level, but he will leave you Tatepon's Memory and his Steel Shield. The Tatepon troop will be available to you when you return to Patapolis.
- When you return to Patapolis, Meden will reveal Mater, the tree of life. Here you can combine ingredients and Kaching to create more Patapon. By experimenting with different items, you can create upgraded versions of your normal troops.
- TIP: Pick up the caps left behind by any of your fallen Patapon. You can resurrect them at Mater.
- NOTE: After completing this mission, you should have the cap of Pan the Pakapon to use at the tree of life. Resurrect him, then go visit him to the left of the Patapon tribe's party. If Pan can follow Ubo Bon's song, you will be granted special ingredients to upgrade your warriors.
Mission 3: Zigotons Strike Back
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon
- Boss: Zigoton Leader
- Talk to Meden. She will ask you to resurrect Tatepon at Mater and defend Patapolis from the advancing Zigoton's.
- TIP: Whip your Patapons up into fever mode by racking up the combos. If you can keep a rhythm going, it will enhance whatever action you are commanding your Patapon to follow. For example: if you can keep the Advance command going, they will move faster. If you can keep Attack going, their damage increases.
- Make your way through the Zigoton hordes and take out the leader and his henchmen. You'll pick up some new equipment along the way. Don't forget to aim for the glowing flowers for extra cash.
- Upon your return to Patapolis, Meden will ask you about Pan, if you haven't met him already.
Mission 4: The battle for Zigoton Fort at Dodon Basin
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon
- Boss: None
- Destroy the Zigoton buildings and troops. As you make your way through the fort, you will encounter Don the Yumipon. He'll join you until you approach the end of the level.
- TIP: If you can keep your Patapons in Fever Mode, you can wreck your way through the fort even if your numbers are weaker. The Yumipon especially, as their attacks triple in strength.
- Destroy the obelisk and take the Chakachaka song. Don will also leave you with Yumipon's Memory and a Steel Bow. The Yumipon will be available at Mater when you return to Patapolis.
Mission 5: Gong the Hawkeye
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: Gong
- Gong wants revenge after losing the Zigoton Fort.
- Stay on the offensive. Ignore Gong's Hammer attack when he launches it and stay focused on keeping the rhythm going. The Fever Mode makes this level easier.
- Keep Advancing and fighting Gong back. Use your Yaripon to support the Tatepon when taking on the Zigotons.
- As you chase Gong across the field, free the captive Patapon and deal with Gong's henchmen. You'll earn the White Papyrus Map when you complete the level. The map will open up new levels.
Mission 6: Ancestral Guardian
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: Giant Monster Dodonga
- Meden asks you to investigate the hidden ruins.
- Destroy the obelisk to get the Chakka drum. You will learn the Chakachaka Song (triangle, triangle, square, circle) used to defend.
- Move on to find Dodonga, the giant monster lurking in the ruins.
- Get in and start attacking Dodonga. Use the Defend Song when he's on top of you to have your Tatepon attack as they retreat to Hatapon. Be sure to Defend when Dodonga rears back to shoot fire.
- TIP: In Fever Mode, the Tatepon's defense ability increases dramatically. In some cases they may take no damage from an enemy attack.
- NOTE: You can fight boss battles again. Though the bosses become more difficult with each replay, you can earn special ingredients to make new Patapon.
Mission 7: Desert Crossing
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Any
- Boss: None
- Meden tells you to find the Don Drum and the Rain JuJu in order to cross the Deplorable Desert.
- Try all you want, you won't make it across that desert without the Rain JuJu. Go back to the Patata Plain first.
- Remember that totem pole with the controller symbols on it? Move your Patapons close to it, but don't pass it or it will disappear.
- Enter the symbols just as if they were part of another rhythm.
- Wait for the totem pole to grow in reply, then play the symbols back until Oep gives you the Bent Compass.
- When you return to Patapolis, the Bent Compass will reveal new secret areas on your World Map.
Mission 8: Secret JuJu at Lostdon
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: Giant Monster Majidonga
- Destroy the obelisk and retrieve the Don Drum.
- Advance until you confront the giant monster Majidonga. Attack him while he moves up to meet you.
- Defend when he prepares to head-butt or rears back to breathe fire.
- Keep on him until he falls. Just be careful--if he eats one of your Patapon, they won't leave a cap behind.
- You will receive the Rain JuJu after beating him. The next time you select a level to travel to, you can take the Rain JuJu with you as a miracle.
- TIP: You can get to Fever Mode more quickly by making your drum beats more accurate. Less accurate beats sound weaker, while more accurate ones resonate loudly. (A good set of headphones or speakers helps pick out the beats.)
Mission 9: Return to Desert Crossing
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: None
- This time you will learn the JuJu miracle that can be used during Fever Mode. Pay attention to the tutorial because it mixes up the rhythms a bit.
- Make your way to the Desert just like before. This time try to keep your Patapons in Fever Mode to activate the Rain JuJu more quickly. Running out of rain in the middle of the Desert is not fun.
- You will encounter enemy Zigotons, but if you bring Tatepon along to cover your ranged troops, they aren't a problem.
- When you complete this level, the Deplorable Desert becomes available as a new hunting ground.
Mission 10: Zigotons Attack
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: None
- Nothing too bad here. When the Zigoton Calvary charges in, go into a Defend beat until your Yaripon and Yumipon take them out.
- Advance on and take out the rest of the Zigotons with your Tatepon in the lead.
- When you return to Patapolis, Meden will tell you of the hero's memory absorbed by the beast Zaknel.
Mission 11: Giant Beast of the Deplorable Desert
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: Giant Monster Zaknel
- Seek out Zaknel. Lay into him with the Attack Beat.
- Defend when he rears back to breathe fire, and also when he lays down to use his slam attack. Don't let up on him, and keep chasing him down.
- When you beat him you will receive Kibapon's Memory. You will now have access to Kibapon Patapon when you return to Patapolis.
Mission 12: Battle for Heave Ho Oasis
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Kiba or Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: None
- You'll face large numbers of Zigoton Yaripon and Yumipon here. Press the attack and use the Defend Beat to lure them closer.
- Use your Tatepon or Kibapon to take out the Zigotons once you draw them in.
- When you beat this level, the Sandy Paradise will be available as a new hunting ground.
- TIP: You can find artifacts that unlock new ruins and hunting grounds for you to explore when you kill the unique animals on a level.
Mission 13: Guardian of Knell
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Kiba or Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: Giant Monster Dokaknel
- NOTE: You must discover the Dusty Crystal at the Heave Ho Oasis to unlock this level.
- Destroy the obelisk to acquire the Dodge Beat (circle, square, circle, square). This rhythm will move your entire army out of harm's way.
- Move on to face the beast Dokaknel.
- Attack until he rears back, then use the Dodge Beat to move your army away from his attack and draw him closer.
- When he moves in, send your Tatepon or Kibapon in to attack.
- Repeat this pattern until Dokaknel falls.
Mission 14: Gong Returns
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Kibapon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: Gong
- Yeah. He's back again and cheesed about losing the Oasis.
- Use your Kibapon to press the attack while your ranged units attack from the rear.
- He'll continue to retreat and use his Hammer Attack as you slash through his troops.
- Watch out for Deka-Tonn. Concentrate your attacks on him and he won't last long.
- Upon completing this mission, you'll get the Kimpon Cap. When you go back to Patopolis, use it to create Kon Kimpon, the crystal percussionist. He'll be just to the left of the Ubo Bon tree. Give him some meat and see what happens.
Mission 15: Zigotons Attack...Again?!
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: None
- Keep fighting. Use your Drum Beats. Nothing too difficult on this level since there are health potions scattered across it. Chase the Zigotons off your land.
- When you return to Patapolis, Meden will tell you about her plan to build a fort in Dodon Basin.
Mission 16: Convoy Escort
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Kibapon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: None
- Keep your Patapons ahead of the carriage as much as possible.
- Take out the Zigotons before the carriage comes within range of their attacks. The Zigotons here are armed with Fire Bows, and you'll get to keep any that you take off the dead Zigotons.
- If you complete this mission, the fort at Dodon Basin will be finished and you won't have to worry about Zigoton attacks there anymore.
Mission 17: Despair
- Mission Difficulty: Hard
- Suggested Patapon: Any
- Boss: None
- Meden has learned of a Zigoton Castle across the Desert.
- Storm your way across the plains, taking down the towers and Zigotons.
- Finally, you'll get to the Castle. Not so easy, huh? Don't worry if you fail this mission. Losing this mission actually leads to the discovery of a Catapult.
- After you retreat to Patapolis, Meden will tell you about the Catapult that you can use to assault the Castle.
Mission 18: A Ray of Hope
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Kibapon, Tatepon, Yaripon
- Boss: None
- Steal the Catapult from the Zigotons, but do not destroy it! It's easier if you leave your Yumipons at home and replace them with the Kibapons.
- Carefully fight your way to the Catapult and destroy the rubble in front of it. Be sure to avoid hitting the Catapult so that you don't destroy it.
- Once your Patapons cross the Catapult, it will be yours. Make your way through the rest of the level, wiping out the Zigotons and their fortifications.
- Make sure that you keep the Catapult to the rear by Advancing your Patapon.
- TIP: Use the Defend Beat to lure the Zigotons closer and then unleash an attack with the Kibapons leading the charge.
Mission 19: A World of Ooze
- Mission Difficulty: Easy
- Suggested Patapon: Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: None
- Another hunting ground unlocked after A Ray of Hope. Be sure to try to kill the Parcheek crabs to get the Gashapon Cap.
- Resurrect Gashapon at Mater in Patapolis. Chef Rah Gashapon will be available to the left of Rumble Thump and Kon Kimpon. Bring him any vegetables you find and see what he comes up with.
Mission 20: Door of Promise
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: None
- In this mission, you must protect the Catapult as you escort it to the Zigoton Castle.
- TIP: Equip the Tailwind JuJu if you've found it. It will help keep your Yumipon to the rear, guarding the Catapult, while your other troops deal with the Zigotons up close.
- Fight your way through the fortifications to the Castle. Keep your Tatepon and Yaripon out in front to defend the Catapult.
- Only advance as far as you have to for the Catapult to start wrecking the Castle. It's actually less dangerous to hang back and let the Catapult deal the damage.
- Use your Tatepon and Yaripon to deal with the Zigotons that charge.
Mission 21: Battle! Mt. Bachikoi Fort
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Kibapon, Tatepon, Yumipon
- Boss: None
- Be sure to take the Tailwind JuJu to this battle.
- As you begin, you find out that the Zigotons have set up windmills to deflect the arrows of your Yumipon. Activate the Tailwind JuJu.
- The Dekatons make this harder, but they don't stand much chance against well-armed Kibapon. Keep them charging in to distract the Dekatons.
- The Yumipon can hang back and attack the mill while your Kibapon and Tatepon deal with the ground troops.
Mission 22: Lord of the Mountains
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Kiba or Patapon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: Giant Monster Gaeen
- Advance through the level until you run into Gaeen.
- Gaeen is a big stone monster, but he falls for the same tricks as the others. Defend and lure him into a Kibapon or Tatepon assault while your ranged troops unleash.
- Defend or Dodge and watch out for his laser eyes and smashing fists.
- When you beat him you should get the Memory of Dekapon, a new heavy infantry troop type.
Mission 23: Awakening at Gaeen Ruins
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- 'Suggested Patapon: Kiba or Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: Giant Monster Dogaeen
- Destroy the obelisk and learn the Charge Power rhythm (circle, circle, triangle, triangle). This will allow you to build up power for a follow-up Attack command.
- Here you will face Dogaeen, another giant stone monster. Use the Ponchaka Charge beat to build up energy and launch attacks at him.
- Dogaeen will attempt to smash your Patapon or fry them with his eye beams. Keep your Patapons out of range of his fists, and Defend against his eye beams.
- Beating Dogaeen should earn you another Alloy to make a Dekapon with.
Mission 24: Legendary Night Sky
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Dekapon, Kibapon or Tatepon, Yumipon
- Boss: Gong
- Guess who's back? Yes, Gong has returned to win glory for himself and the Zigotons.
- Get to the Patapon that Gong is holding Prisoner and free him before Gong kills him.
- Now you have to face Gong and his army. Use your Yumipons and the Tailwind JuJu to take out his archers.
- Use your Tatepon, Kibapon, or Dekapon deal with Gong. Stay on him and he will run away again.
- If you complete the level, you will find the Broken Sign, which will reveal more hidden ruins.
Mission 25: Meden Kidnapped
- Mission Difficulty: Hard
- Suggested Patapon: Kibapon, Yaripon, Yumipon
Boss: None
- Zigotons have kidnapped Meden. You must return her to Patapolis.
- Be careful that you don't kill Meden as you try to free her from the cart. It's best to leave the Flame weapons at home.
- You will need to take the Rain JuJu with you as you cross the desert. Activate it to keep the cart and your Patapon from burning.
- The Charge rhythm comes in handy for trying to wreck the cart quickly. Keep your Yumipon firing to help break it down.
- Always keep the cart on the same screen as you. If you let it get too far away, you will lose the mission.
Mission 26: Gong Vows to Fight
- Mission Difficulty: Hard
- Suggested Patapon: Dekapon, Kibapon, Yumipon
- Boss: Gong (x3)
- This time the battle is to the death. Try using an unusual mix of troops to beat this level, like a selection of Yumipon, Kibapon, and Dekapon.
- Keep Gong on the run by keeping your Patapon in Fever. The back-up Zigotons that he calls on should be no problem.
- Be sure to pick up the health potions hidden in the fortifications.
- Watch out for the Megatons or Zigoton musicians. Use your Dekapons to keep them on the ground while your Yumipons rain down arrows on them.
- The Dekapons are also handy when Gong does his splitting act at the end of the level. Keep hammering his clones with Yumipon and Kibapon.
- Beat this level and you'll be awarded Gong's Helm.
Mission 27: Volcano Guardian
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: Giant Monster Ciokina
- Lure Ciokina in with your Dodge beat and then Power up and Attack.
- Repeat this until you back him across the level and beat him, but watch out for his claw and bubble attacks.
- When you beat Ciokina, you get his Horn and Pincer, as well as Megapon's Memory.
- Take Megapon's Memory back to Patapolis and you can create Megapons: a very powerful ranged-troop type.
Mission 28: Crossing Zigoton Territory
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Kibapon, Tatepon, Yumi or Megapon
- Boss: Spyderton, Tank
- Here, you'll face Spyderton and his Zigoton tank.
- Keep your Yumipon back and use the Tailwind JuJu to attack Spyderton's tank with your arrows.
- Use a ground troop like the Tatepons or Kibapons to keep Spyderton and his Dekaton occupied.
- Stay on the Dekaton because he can ground-slam and cause your Patapon to fall.
- Destroy the tank and Spyderton and you will win an Ancient Horn and Spyderton's Helm.
- NOTE: There's not much that your Yumipon or Megapon can't handle in Fever Mode as long as they're protected by your ground troops.
Mission 29: Facing Gate Ghoul Baban
- Mission Difficulty: Hard
- Suggested Patapon: Dekapon, Kiba or Tatepon, Yumipon
- Boss: Scorpiton, Gate Ghoul Baban
- Plow through Scorpiton's minions and chase Scorpiton back to Baban, the living gate.
- Baban starts to shoot arrows at your Patapon while Scorpiton and his minions charge out to attack.
- Once again, the Yumipons with the Tailwind JuJu come in very handy for deflecting Baban's arrows.
- Use Dekapons to keep Scorpiton on the ground while you deal with Baban. Kibapon are also handy for keeping him at bay.
- Once you beat this level and kill Baban and Scorpiton, you get Scorpiton's Helm.
Mission 30: Zigoton Queen
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Kiba or Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumipon
- Boss: Beetleton
- Beetleton, the Dekaton from Crossing Zigoton Territory, shows up again here. This time, the Zigoton Queen is there to help him.
- Once the battle with Beetleton begins, Kharma appears to bail him out. You can't actually attack her, so concentrate on Beetleton.
- Keep using the Dodge rhythm to avoid Kharma's sleep flowers while you pelt Beetleton with your Yumipon or Yaripon.
- Use Tatepon or Kibapon to take out the Zigoton spearmen that come to Bettleton's aid and get the healing potions they drop. As long as you keep getting the potions, this level shouldn't be too hard.
- When you kill Beetleton and finish this level, you get Beetleton's Helm.
Mission 31: Kharma's Pet
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
- Suggested Patapon: Kiba or Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumi or Megapon
- Boss: Giant Monster Shookles
- Watch out for Shookles' sleeping gas attack. It doesn't do much damage, but is annoying.
- Stick and move, just like the other giant monsters. This one is slow, so you shouldn't have much trouble if you use a ranged troop to attack.
- If you beat Shookle, you get a Dark Palace Model.
Mission 32: Dark Palace Guardian
- Mission Difficulty: Medium
Suggested Patapon: Kiba or Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumi or Megapon
- Boss: Giant Monster Shoshookle
- NOTE: You must have obtained the Dark Palace Model to unlock this level.
- The big bad here is Shooshookle, which is a lot like Shookle but more powerful. The same attacks work against Shooshookle, so keep up the ranged attacks with a Tailwind JuJu.
- Destroying Shooshookle earns you the Storm JuJu.
Mission 33: Final Showdown!
- Mission Difficulty: Hard
- Suggested Patapon: Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumi or Megapon
- Boss: Kharma
- Now you face Kharma, the Zigoton Queen herself. She will retreat and start to call down meteors on your troops.
- Dodge her meteor attacks as best you can. They will burn your troops and cause them to scatter.
- Use the Charge beat and Attack. Keep your ranged troops shooting while your Tatepon rush in.
- She doesn't put up much of a fight, but runs away after a short battle.
Mission 34: Servant of Darkness
- Mission Difficulty: Hard
- Suggested Patapon: Kiba or Tatepon, Yaripon, Yumi or Megapon
- Boss: Gorl
- Gorl is waiting for you on this level. It changes shapes as you battle it, but both forms require you to use the Dodge rhythm to keep your troops out of harm's way.
- Dodge the first form's fireballs when it prepares to launch them. Then charge in and attack.
- After you've wounded Gorl enough, it will transform into it's second form.
- Gorl's second form charges from a distance, so be sure to keep the Dodge beat ready.
- Your Yaripon, Yumipon, or Megapon are useful once again. Use them to attack from a distance, while using your melee troops to keep up a close assault.
- Once you've beaten this form, Gorl will revert back to the fireball creature.
- Keep attacking! You have to face each form several times. Just pay attention to the pattern. It takes time, but eventually, you'll beat Gorl.
- If you finish this level, you learn the secret of IT!
- Congratulations! You have completed Patapon!
