National Biodiesel Day
National Biodiesel Day is celebrated annually on Rudolph Diesel’s birthday March 18th. Rudolf Diesel originally designed the diesel engine to run on vegetable oil, peanut oil to be more precise. During a speech in 1912 Diesel said "the use of vegetable oils for engine fuels may seem insignificant today, but such oils may become, in the course of time, as important as petroleum and the coal tar products of the present time."
