NBC Sports

NBC Sports is a division of the National Broadcasting Company, which is an American television network. The station is home to the National Football League, Notre Dame football, professional golf, tennis, and both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

NFL Returns to NBC

After several decades broadcasting the NFL, the network lost the rights to air games in 1997. Then in 2006, the company signed a six-year deal to air Sunday night football games. The deal includes the airing of the Thursday-night season opener, Super Bowl XLIII, Super Bowl XLVI and select playoff and Pro Bowl games.²

Unprecedented Summer Olympics Coverage

The coverage of the 2008 Olympics will be the most comprehensive ever. Besides the live coverage of major events on the network, 2,200 hours will be available online for viewing.

According to an article in USA Today:

NBC's Beijing TV schedule includes 2,900 hours of live TV coverage, including all 32 swimming finals and the team and individual finals in men's and women's gymnastics. Those live hours, spread across NBC and its cable TV outlets, top the total U.S. TV hours (2,562) for all previous Summer Games combined.³
