Saturday Night Live
Shannon joined SNL in 1995 playing various characters. She is best known for playing nerdy Catholic schoolgirl, Mary Katharine Gallagher. This skit was turned into a movie in 1999. Superstar starred Molly Shannon as her SNL character who's dreaming of super stardom. In 2001 Shannon left SNL to concentrate on her movie career, becoming the shows longest-serving female cast member.
