Michael Bay

Michael Bay is a director/producer known for such films as Armageddon, The Rock, and Pearl Harbor. His latest effort is a live-action version of the classic cartoon, Transformers. He started directing commercials and music videos, and it was not until 1995 when he made his directorial debut with the film, Bad Boys.

Brief Biography

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Michael Bay attended the Art Center College of Design in, local, Pasadena. He later moved on to and graduated from Wesleyan University in Connecticut. After graduating, Bay made a living directing commercials and music videos. A highly awarded commercial director, Bay won every major television commercial award. He finally got the chance to direct a motion picture in 1995. Bad Boys starred Will Smith and Martin Lawrence and grossed $141 million. Bay, then, was able to direct other summer blockbusters, such as: The Rock, Armageddon andPearl Harbor.
