Merril Jessop
Merril Jessop had an arranged polygamous marriage with Carolyn Jessop, which was his fourth out of seven wives. Merrill took Carolyn's pay checks from her, requiring her to ask him for everything. He also raped her in exchange for better emotional treatment and protection of their eight children. After seventeen years of abuse, Carolyn escaped with their children.
Merril lost custody of his children with Carolyn, making her the first woman ever granted full custody of her children in a contested suit involving the FLDS.
