Dream Team?
William Kristol of The New York Times suggested Lieberman would be a good choice for McCain and could counter Barack Obama's video presidential choice, Joe Biden. He continued on to state that once the party overcame the initial angst, the McCain-Lieberman ticket could fare well in the general election in November.5
The Wall Street Journal writer Henry Olsen disagrees with Kristol, citing Abraham Lincoln's decision to choose Democrat Andrew Johnson as his running mate in 1864. Olsen further contemplated the possibility of McCain not making it through his term and how Lieberman would lead the country if forced into that situation.6
