Max Gogarty was a gap-year student who was hired to blog for the Guardian's weblog Travelog. His first post was so inundated with negative response that his blogging career was cut short after the first day. The majority of the criticism revolved around the fact that his writing style was simplistic amid charges of nepotism. His father is freelance writer Paul Gogarty, who also writes for the Guardian.
