Background

Before being hired by the Lions, Millen was a linebacker in the NFL from 1980 to 1991. He was drafted by the Raiders in 1980 and played for the team until 1988. Millen also played for the San Francisco 49ers and the Washington Redskins. After playing, Millen was a broadcaster for the NFL before being hired by the Lions in 2001 to be the team's CEO and general manager.
