Injury
In the first period of the September 24, 2008, exhibition game against the Detroit Red Wings, Carle was hit mid-ice by Detroit winger Tomas Kopecky. Carle lay motionless on the ice for several minutes and was removed by stretcher. He reportedly loss consciousness, but regained it before he was sent to a local hospital for tests. Carle is not expected to miss playing time because of the injury.1
Hockey Career
Carle began his hockey career playing in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan from 2002 to 2007. He was drafted 53rd overall in the 2006 NHL draft by the Montreal Canadiens. He continued to play in the minors, appearing in 25 games with the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in the QMJHL in 2007. Carle was placed with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the American Hockey League during the 2007-2008 season, recording seven goals, 14 assists and 43 penalty minutes.2
