Mario Chalmers
Professional basketball player Mario Chalmers played with the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team before he was drafted into the NBA in 2008. Chalmers will play for the Miami Heat during the 2008-2009 NBA season.1
On September 3, 2008, Chalmers and fellow Kansas alum Darrell Arthur were sent home from the NBA's rookie transition program after they were reportedly found with marijuana.2

Basketball Career
Chalmers played basketball in high school, leading Bartlett High School to state championships in 2002 and 2003. He averaged 25.3 points per game and was named All-American. In 2005, Chalmers enrolled at the University of Kansas. He set school records each year and was instrumental in the Kansas Jayhawks' 2008 NCAA Championship. Chalmers scored a three-point shot with two seconds left in the game to force overtime. Kansas defeated the Memphis Tigers 75-68.3
Chalmers was selected 34th overall in the 2008 NBA draft by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Later in 2008, he was traded to the Miami Heat.
