Kodak advertises the Easyshare 5100 as "Sophisticated Simplicity", with the two cartridge, six ink system printing several times more than the average all-in-one, saving consumers money on ink. It features a USB port for quicker printing of digital photos without the use of a computer. It also comes with the Kodak Easyshare software and is Bluetooth enabled.

Epinions users report great printing quality and affordable ink, but are turned off by the incompatibility with home networking and problems installing the software. CNET users rate the 5100 5.1 out of 10, citing "software headaches" and no manual or documentation included with the product.
