Killzone 2 is the third installment in the science fiction first person shooter series currently under development exclusively for the PlayStation 3. First announced at the 2005 E3 Conference in Los Angeles, California, it is scheduled for release in February 2009.

A substantial portion of the game takes place on the Helghast home planet of Helghan, two years after the Helghast assault on Vekta. Players take the role of Sev, a battle-hardened veteran of the special forces unit known as the Legion. From trailers and screenshots released thus far, an ISA orbital infantry invasion is taking place in the Helghast capital city of Pyrrhus. Screenshots depict heavy resistance by the Helghast defenders, including street battles.

Your goal will be to capture the Helghast leader, Emperor Visari, secure Pyrrhus, and bring the enemy’s war machine to a halt, while learning to adapt to the lanet's hostile environment.
