On July 3, 2008, Joe Hagin announced that he will resign as the chief of staff for the George W. Bush administration. He has been working with the administration since 2000, when he held the position of deputy campaign manager for Bush's presidential campaign.¹ White House spokesperson Dana Perino stated, "The President said that he thanks Joe for his service to the White House, that Joe's been a loyal friend, and that he is excited about the next chapter in Joe's life."²
