Jim Denevan

Jim Denevan is a Santa Cruz, California-based artist and chef. Denevan specializes in large, free-hand drawings which he creates on sand. His largest piece measured three miles in diameter and set the world record for the largest freehand drawing ever.¹

As a chef, Denevan specializes in using locally grown, organic products. He has worked at Balzac Bistro, Pearl Alley Bistro, Primizia and most recently held the title of Executive Chef at the Santa Cruz eatery Gabriella Café. He is also the author of Outstanding in the Field: A Farm to Table Cookbook.
